Fifty Shades of Grey author clashes with director over sex scenes


Creative tensions between the author of Fifty Shades of Grey and the film’s directors have been revealed in a magazine interview.

Sam Taylor-Johnson said that she had “creative fights” with E.L James over her interpretation of the book.

The film stars Jamie Dornan, who also played the male lead in the BBC’s successful drama, The Fall, and Dakota Johnson.

Speaking to Porter magazine, Taylor-Johnson admitted that her relationship with the author had been fraught.

Vanity Fair had also reported on differences of opinion over the filming of sex scenes portraying bondage and featuring an array of equipment including whips. More
